My students are regularly cast in lead roles in school and community theater productions, and are frequently selected for both All State and Area All State Choruses based on their scores at NYSSMA. Many of them have continued their vocal studies in popular, musical theater, and classical genres at elite music schools, including Berklee College of Music, University of the Arts, Eastman School of Music, and Boston University.
Equally important to me are the personal successes of my students. Many of them find that singing lessons give them confidence, not only as performers, but in other areas of their lives as well. Studio classes and occasional duets and trios help them become successful listeners and collaborators, and recitals give them an arena to explore their new-found skills. My students learn that singing is a fun, self-affirming means of expression.
